[mowbot] cutting systems

How effective are the light weight cutting (spinning disk with razor blades)
systems when it comes to the real world? What happens when the grass is long
or a stick is in the yard? Do it leave a pattern in the grass when cut -
like a traditional mowing system?
Also, I was reading some descriptions that calculated it could take up to
several days to achieve full coverage of the yard. Won't that leave visible
trails? I don't know about you, but my grass grows visibly in two or three
days.
