Attention all robot builders!

Just a little advanced notice on the Year 2000 Atlanta Robot Rally. We will be holding the 4th annual Robot Rally in Atlanta on February 5th of 2000.

We will be holding the second running of our Vacuum Robot Contest. The rules for last year's contest are posted on the web at www.botlanta.org. They will be updated very soon for next year's contest.

The basic idea is to have a robot that can pick up rice kernels from an 8' x 8' carpeted arena. There is room for navigation beacons and a large variety of robot platforms. The arena has a few obstacles and points will be taken away for moving them from their original position. Points are awarded for the amount of rice picked up, the weight of the robot, and the time taken to vacuum the floor.

Let me know if you are interested in making the event. We have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Last year there were about 2000 people who stopped by to check out the contest.
