This is just my point. You have to isolate the transmitter from the
receiver in such an application so that you ONLY get the echo. The echo
is typically much lower in amplitude than the initial *bang* and unless
you can be sure what you are listening to is the echo and NOT the
initial *bang* you can't tell what is going on. This isn't impossible,
but it also isn't easy.
